Edmonson, Superintendent News Release December 20, 2009 Fatal Crash in Bienville Parish This morning at approximately 8:00 am, two vehicles were traveling eastbound in the right lane of I-20 near Gibsland when the lead vehicle was hit from behind by an approaching vehicle. Both drivers lost control of their vehicles upon impact. The slower lead vehicle overturned off the roadway ejecting the driver, Mr. Roger Sullivan of Athens, LA. who died as a result of his injuries. The approaching vehicle driven by Mr. James Richards of Florida, continued eastbound off the roadway until impacting a concrete column at the LA 151 overpass. Mr. Richards is expected to recover from his injuries at Minden Medical Center where upon his release will be charged with DWI, Vehicular Homicide and Vehicular Negligent Injuring. All vehicle occupants were unrestrained. | |||
