Edmonson, Superintendent News Release August 9, 2008 Tanker Crash Claims Life of Monroe Man Troopers are investigating a crash that occurred this Saturday morning at 2:45 AM that claimed the life of a Monroe man. The driver, 60 year old Willie Baker III, was operating an Equipment Services Co. tractor trailer, south bound on LA 9, 4 miles South of LA 4, when he failed to negotiate a curve to the left. The vehicle veered off the roadway to the right, overturned and struck a power line. The tanker erupted in flames, and Mr. Baker was pronounced dead on the scene.
