| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent News Release September 13, 2008
Troop G Continues In Support Role Successfully coordinating the arrival of over 2000 evacuees from southern Louisiana Parishes has been accomplished through excellent cooperation between the Louisiana National Guard and our local police agencies. And over the last two days the primary mission for troop G has been the security of evacuees at those Shreveport and Bossier City Shelter Facilities. But with the storm now reaching the North West Corner of the state, troopers stand ready along I-20 and I-49 for deployment in the wake of Hurricane Ike’s damaging winds. In the event of power outages at intersections, downed power lines or road obstructions, all local agencies as well as citizens will benefit from the newly established multi agency radio interoperability to communicate directly with each other solving potential traffic problems as they occur.
