Former Shreveport Attorney Jailed for Bank Fraud

Shreveport – On Monday, March 7, 2011, troopers with the Louisiana State Police Insurance Fraud/Auto Theft Unit in Shreveport arrested a former Shreveport attorney and charged her with one count of bank fraud. The arrest was the result of an investigation into a complaint made to the Louisiana Department of Insurance.

On September 11, 2007, Kenota L. Pulliam (B/F; age 40) and her husband, Henry L. Willis, both of Shreveport, purchased land together in Caddo Parish. In November of 2008, a loan in the amount of $25,000.00 was taken out against the property with a local bank in Caddo Parish in the names of Pulliam and Willis.

The investigation found that prior to the loan generated in November of 2008, Pulliam and Willis were separated and residing at different addresses. The loan, which was filed after their separation, was done so without the knowledge and consent of Willis. In addition, the documents filed in support of the loan contained the signature of Willis, which was allegedly forged. Subsequently, Pulliam presented the documents that contained the falsified signature of Willis to a local bank and was able to secure a loan by listing their purchased property as collateral.

An arrest warrant was issued for the arrest of Pulliam in Caddo Parish. On Monday, March 07, 2011, Pulliam voluntarily surrendered to troopers at the Caddo Correctional Center where she was arrested and later booked on her charge of bank fraud.
