Troop G News Release – May 12, 2011

On Wednesday, May 11, 2011, Louisiana State Police detectives were called to the OMV in Shreveport regarding an employee of A. Williams Enterprises, Inc who had presented a fraudulent insurance card during a transaction.

Following an investigation, detectives learned that on Wednesday, May 11, 2011, Alphonso Williams (B/M; age 37), owner of A. Williams Enterprises, Inc sent one of his employees to the OMV to pay fines related to an insurance cancellation on a company owned vehicle. The company documents, which were retrieved from the business of A. Williams Enterprises, Inc by the employee, contained an insurance card that was fraudulent. Subsequently, the employee, acting under the direction of Williams, unknowingly presented the fraudulent insurance card to an OMV employee.

On May 12, 2011, LSP detectives interviewed Williams at the Insurance Fraud Shreveport Field Office. Following that interview, Williams was arrested and taken to the Caddo Correctional Center in Shreveport and booked on one (1) count of forgery of an insurance identification card. The employee provided a statement and was released.
