Deadly Crash in Bienville Claims Life of Ringgold Woman Ringgold - On May 30, 2011, at 11:45 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a single vehicle crash on Pine Bluff Road, just north of Ringgold, in Bienville Parish. The late night crash claimed the life of a 54-year-old woman from Ringgold, LA. According to investigating troopers, 62-year-old Gladys G. Jordan and her passenger, 54-year-old Kathy B. Brown, were traveling north on Pine Bluff Road in a 1992 Toyota passenger car. For unknown reasons, the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway into a ditch and struck a concrete culvert. Jordan was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash and was transported to Minden Medical Center in Minden with minor injuries. Brown was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash and was transported to Louisiana State University Health Science Center (LSUHSC) in Shreveport where she died. Although impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, routine toxicology test results are pending and the crash remains under investigation. In 2010, 59 percent of people who lost their lives on Louisiana highways were not properly restrained. Louisiana law requires every vehicle occupant, regardless of seating position, to be properly restrained day or night. Buckle up Louisiana. Every trip. Every time. | |||
