Edmonson, Superintendent News Release – August 14, 2010 Castor Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash Dubberly- On August 13, 2010, at 11:45 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a single vehicle motorcycle crash on LA 531 3.7 miles south of LA 532 in Webster Parish which claimed the life of a 46-year-old man from Castor. According to investigating troopers, 46-year-old Michael W. Driggers was driving north on LA 531 operating a red 1996 Suzuki motorcycle when for unknown reasons he lost control of the motorcycle and overturned. Driggers was ejected as the motorcycle impacted the roadway. Driggers, who was wearing a safety helmet at the time of the crash, was airlifted to LSUMC where he was pronounced deceased. Although speed and impairment are not suspected to be factors in the crash, routine toxicology test results are pending and the crash remains under investigation. Troop G troopers have investigated 25 fatal crashes for the year of 2010, resulting in 28 fatalities. Contact Information: | |||
