Deadly Crash in DeSoto Parish Claims One Life

DeSoto Parish – On December 30, 2010, at 11:01 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a single vehicle crash on Ruby Dry Road, just south of LA 3015, in DeSoto Parish. The crash claimed the life of a man from Springfield, MO.

According to investigating troopers, 42-year-old James A. Boley was traveling north on Ruby Dry Road in a 2001 Chevrolet pickup when, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the vehicle and traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. As a result of impact, the vehicle spun across the roadway into a wooded area. Consequently, the front portion of the vehicle struck another tree and the driver was partially ejected.

Boley was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the DeSoto Parish Coroner.

Speed and impairment are suspected to be factors in the crash and toxicology tests are pending

The crash remains under investigation.

Troop G Troopers have investigated 44 fatal crashes for the year of 2010, which resulted in 50 fatalities.
