Haughton Man Dies in Webster Parish Fatality Crash

Webster Parish – On December 30, 2010, at 8:45 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a single vehicle crash on Camp Zion Road in Webster Parish near the Bossier Parish line. The crash claimed the life of a man from Haughton, LA.

According to investigating troopers, 34-year-old Lance Rich was traveling west on Camp Zion Road in a 2003 Dodge Ram pickup when, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the vehicle and traveled off the right side of the roadway. As a result, the vehicle entered a grassy ditch area, overturned, and collided with a tree near the driver side door.

Rich, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Webster Parish Coroner.

Routine toxicology tests are pending and the crash remains under investigation.

Troop G Troopers have investigated 43 fatal crashes for the year of 2010, which resulted in 49 fatalities.
