State Police Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest Webster Parish - On December 1, 2010, at 8:35 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 20 in Webster Parish that yielded 5 kilos of cocaine and landed a Texas man into a Webster Parish Jail. State police stopped a 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by 34-year-old Efren Diaz of Houston, TX on Interstate 20 (mp 47) near Minden, for multiple traffic violations. During the stop, troopers contacted Diaz and subsequently obtained consent to search. A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 5 kilos of cocaine from within an aftermarket hidden compartment. After an interview with a Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigation trooper, Diaz was arrested and transported to the Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center located in Webster Parish and booked on the charge of possession with the intent to distribute schedule 2 drugs (Cocaine).
