Sudden Impact Mock Crash to Be Held at Bossier Parish School for Technology & Innovative Learning (BPSTIL)

Bossier City -- Multiple first responder agencies along with Bossier Parish High School students will participate in a mock crash to demonstrate the dangers of impaired driving and lack of seat belt usage to the students.

On Friday, March 8, 2019, at 8:30 a.m., on the BPSTIL Campus (Located at 1020 Innovation Dr., Bossier City, LA 71111), multiple agencies will work with students to demonstrate the possible fatal consequences of impaired driving and the dangers of not using seat belts. Students involved will act out a fatal crash scene scenario in front of their peers, allowing the students to see first-hand how drinking and driving affects everyone involved.

Numerous state and local agencies including Louisiana State Police Troop G, Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office, Bossier Parish EMS, Benton Fire Department, Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport, Bossier Parish School Board and Kenny’s Wrecker Service will participate in the scenario. Local residents should not be alarmed to see and hear emergency vehicles arriving at the school during the mock crash event.

This is an effort by participating agencies to reduce the number of underage DWI's as well as serious injury and fatal crashes, particularly during prom season. Programs such as mock crashes teach youth the importance of making sound decisions throughout the course of their lives.

** All media outlets are invited to attend this event. **
