TROOP G NEWS RELEASE October 14, 2019 Bossier City Man Killed in UTV Crash Bossier Parish – On October 14, 2019, shortly before 8:30 a.m., Troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop G began investigating a fatal crash on Bobbie Lane in south Bossier Parish. The crash took the life of a Bossier City man. The preliminary investigation revealed a 2010 Polaris Ranger Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV), driven by 79-year-old John Brown, was traveling on Bobbie Lane approaching the intersection of Caplis Sligo Road. For reasons still under investigation, the UTV Brown was operating exited the roadway and traveled through a fence before crashing into a tree. Brown, who was properly restrained, was pronounced dead at the scene. A toxicology sample was obtained and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation. Troopers wish to remind everyone that it is dangerous and illegal to operate off-road vehicles like three-wheelers, four-wheelers, and other all-terrain vehicles on any public roadway in the state.
