| TROOP G NEWS RELEASE November 13, 2020 Unrestrained Driver Killed in Bienville Parish Crash Bienville Parish – On November 13, 2020, shortly after 3:15 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a fatal crash on Interstate 20 near milepost 55. This crash killed an unrestrained driver whose name is being withheld pending next of kin notification. The initial investigation revealed a 2006 Ford Expedition was traveling westbound on Interstate 20. For reasons still under investigation, the driver lost control of his vehicle, struck a guardrail, and overturned. The driver sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead. A toxicology sample was obtained and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation. Buckling up is the most effective way to protect yourself during a vehicle crash. Failure to take a few seconds to buckle up can have devastating consequences. Louisiana law requires every person in a vehicle, regardless of seating position, to be properly restrained day or night.
