TROOP G NEWS RELEASE January 15, 2016 State Police Arrest Shreveport Casino Employee for Theft SHREVEPORT, LA – A casino employee was arrested today after he was caught defrauding a Shreveport casino. On January 11, 2016, the Louisiana State Police Gaming Enforcement Division was contacted by Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino in Shreveport after it was discovered that an employee, 45-year-old Frank Leeper of Haughton, Louisiana, was creating fraudulent credit payouts in an effort to defraud the casino. At the time of the fraudulent payouts, Leeper was employed as the director of slots at the casino. Troopers investigated the matter and determined Leeper stole a total of over $3,000 from the casino on at least three separate occasions. An arrest warrant was obtained for Leeper’s arrest. Investigators questioned Leeper upon his arrival at work today at which time he confessed to stealing the money. Leeper was charged with felony theft and was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center. The casino cooperated fully with the investigation and no patrons were defrauded as a result of Leeper’s actions. The investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible.
