Webster Parish Crash Claims the Life of a Sarepta Woman

Webster Parish-On February 24, 2016 at 11:55 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Percy Burns Road just north of Louisiana Highway 157 that claimed the life of a Sarepta woman.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Saturn Ion driven by 79 -year-old Margie Juckett of Sarepta was traveling north on Percy Burns Road, when for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle exited the roadway and struck a culvert.

Juckett did not survive the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Webster Parish Coroner.

Impairment is not suspected in this crash, but a toxicology sample was obtained from Juckett and will be submitted for analysis. Troopers believe that it is possible that Juckett suffered some type of medical problem prior to the crash. This crash remains under investigation.

Troopers want to take this time to remind motorists that fatigued drivers and drivers experiencing unexpected medical problems are three times more likely to be involved in a crash. By taking preventative measures such as stopping for rest or seeking medical attention for an unexpected illness can drastically decrease your chances of being involved in a crash.
