Multi-Agency Investigation Dismantles Criminal Organization at Local College

Shreveport, LA- A multi-agency investigation involving the Louisiana State Police Criminal Intelligence Unit, Caddo/Shreveport Narcotics, and the United States Department of Homeland Security Investigations has led to the arrests of 14 individuals for various drug-related offenses.

In January 2016, agents identified a criminal organization being supplied from Oregon operating in the Caddo/Shreveport area selling narcotics on the Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) campus. As a result of the investigation and numerous undercover purchases, a series of arrest and search warrants were executed in and around the Shreveport area. The investigation dismantled the criminal organization and resulted in the seizure of approximately $33,000 in cash, a handgun, a shotgun, and approximately $20,000 in narcotics including marijuana, steroids, Xanax, and other prescription medications, all of which were being distributed to local university students. The firearms that were seized during this investigation were not seized on the LSUS campus.

“The Louisiana State Police will continue to maintain close partnerships with other law enforcement agencies in an effort to locate and arrest individuals who choose to participate in these types of crimes,” said Louisiana State Police Superintendent Colonel Mike Edmonson. “These arrests would not have been possible without the close cooperation of the northwest Louisiana law enforcement agencies that participated in the investigation.”

The investigation resulted in the arrests of the people listed below:


    1) 20-year-old Morgan Lambeth of McLeod, Texas

    3) 24-year-old Austen Thrailkill of Land O’Lakes, Florida.
