TROOP G NEWS RELEASE September 2, 2015 Webster Parish Crash Claims the Life of a Springhill Man Webster Parish-On September 2, 2015 at 6:04 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on US Highway 371 just north of Louisiana Highway 528 that claimed the life of a Springhill man. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2005 Buick Lacrosse driven by 45 -year-old Terrance Gipson of Springhill was traveling south on US HWY 371, when for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle exited the right side of the roadway, and crashed into a group of trees. Gipson was restrained at the time of the crash, but still sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Webster Parish Coroner. Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in this crash. A toxicology sample was obtained from Gipson and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation. Troopers want to take this time to remind motorists that fatigued drivers and drivers experiencing unexpected medical problems are three times more likely to be involved in a crash. By taking preventative measures such as stopping for rest or seeking medical attention for an unexpected illness can drastically decrease your chances of being involved in a crash.
