TROOP G NEWS RELEASE August 10, 2015 Mock Crash to Be Held at the Arcadia Event Center Multiple first responder agencies and student role players will participate in a mock fatal crash to demonstrate the dangers of impaired driving and lack of seatbelt usage to students from 13 different churches located in rural Bienville Parish. On Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 9:00 a.m., at the Arcadia Event Center (Located at 700 Factory Outlet Rd, Arcadia, LA 71001), multiple agencies will work with students to demonstrate the possible fatal consequences of impaired driving and the dangers of not using seat belts. Students involved will act out a fatal crash scene scenario in front of their peers, allowing the students to see first-hand how drinking and driving affects everyone involved. Numerous state and local agencies including Louisiana State Police, M.A.D.D.(Mothers Against Drunk Driving), Bienville Parish Sheriff’s Office, Arcadia Police Department, Pafford EMS, Arcadia North Bienville Fire Department, University Health Shreveport, Bienville Parish Coroner’s Office, the Bienville Parish District Attorney’s Office, and Paul Davidson Towing and Recovery will participate in this event and provide the resources needed to ensure its success. Representatives from each agency will be available to answer all of the students' questions at the conclusion of the event. This is an effort by participating agencies to reduce the number of underage DWI's as well as serious injury and fatal crashes, particularly during the school year. Programs such as mock crashes teach youth the importance of making sound decisions throughout the course of their lives. ** All media outlets are invited to attend this event. ** Contact Information: | |||
