TROOP G NEWS RELEASE July 28, 2015 Webster Parish Crash Claims the Life of an Arkansas Man Webster Parish-On July 28, 2015 at 6:10 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 159 just north of Louisiana Highway 2 that claimed the life of an Arkansas man. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2001 Honda Civic driven by 20 -year-old Jimmy Alvarado of Magnolia, Arkansas was traveling south on LA HWY 159, when for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle exited the right side of the roadway and crashed into a group of trees. Alvarado sustained fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Webster Parish Coroner. Impairment is not suspected in this crash. A toxicology sample was obtained from Alvarado and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation. Troopers want to take this time to remind motorists that fatigued drivers and drivers experiencing unexpected medical problems are three times more likely to be involved in a crash. By taking preventative measures such as stopping for rest or seeking medical attention for an unexpected illness can drastically decrease your chances of being involved in a crash.
