TROOP G NEWS RELEASE April 15, 2015 Early Morning Crash Claims the Life of an Arkansas Woman Webster Parish-On April 15, 2015 at 7:50 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Germantown Road about one mile south of Louisiana Highway 534 that claimed the life of an Arkansas woman. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2004 Chevrolet Impala driven by 25-year-old Laura Woods of Emerson, Arkansas was traveling north on Germantown Road when it exited the roadway and crashed into a tree. Woods was not restrained at the time of the crash and sustained fatal injuries. Woods was pronounced dead at the scene by the Webster Parish Coroner. Impairment is not suspected in this crash. A toxicology sample was obtained from Woods and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation. Louisiana law requires motor vehicle occupants to be properly restrained in every seating position, day and night. Wearing a seatbelt significantly reduces the likelihood of being seriously injured or killed as the result of a crash and is the single most effective thing motorists can do to protect themselves.
