TROOP G NEWS RELEASE November 8, 2015 Early Morning Crash Claims the Life of a Minden Woman Bienville Parish-On November 7, 2015 at 7:29 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Interstate 20 just east of Louisiana Highway 151 that claimed the life of an Minden woman. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Toyota Avalon driven by 66-year-old Gregory Smotherman of Minden was traveling east on I-20 when it exited the roadway, went down an embankment, and crashed into some trees. Smotherman was restrained at the time of the crash and sustained moderate injuries, but his passenger 56-year-old Bronwyn Smotherman who was also restrained, didn’t survive her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bienville Parish Coroner. Impairment is not suspected in this crash. A toxicology sample was obtained from Smotherman and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation. Contact Information: | |||
