TROOP G NEWS RELEASE October 28, 2015 Multi-Vehicle Crash Claims The Life of a Ringgold Woman Bossier Parish-On October 28, 2015 at 2:11 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a report of a two vehicle crash on US Highway 71 that claimed the life of a Ringgold woman. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2008 Ford F-150 driven by 26-year-old Dustin McBride of Shreveport was stopped facing northbound on US Highway 71waiting for the southbound traffic to clear, when he was struck from behind by a 2013 Fiat driven by 22-year-old Rachel Boiles of Ringgold. Boiles was not restrained at the time of the crash and sustained fatal injuries. McBride was restrained at the time of the crash and was not injured. Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in this crash, but toxicology samples were obtained and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation. Louisiana law requires motor vehicle occupants to be properly restrained in every seating position, day and night. Wearing a seatbelt significantly reduces the likelihood of being seriously injured or killed as the result of a crash and is the single most effective thing motorists can do to protect themselves.
