TROOP G NEWS RELEASE October 21, 2015 Shreveport Man Arrested for Possession and Distribution of Child Pornography Shreveport – In August of 2015, Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit initiated an undercover online investigation after receiving child pornography videos from a Shreveport man. During the investigation, LSP Detectives located his address in Shreveport and obtained a search warrant for the residence. On Tuesday, October 20, 2015, LSP Detectives, along with the Shreveport Police Department, and the Bossier City Marshal’s Office executed a search warrant on 3601 Dee St., Apt 515 in Shreveport that resulted in the arrest of 51-year-old Wesley Dean Newman of Shreveport. Newman was later transported to Caddo Correctional Center and booked for 2-counts of Distribution of Pornography involving Juveniles and 69-counts of Possession of Pornography Involving Juveniles. If convicted on these charges Newman could see significant jail time without benefit of parole. The Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit will continue to maintain close partnerships with law enforcement agencies statewide to locate and arrest those individuals who choose to participate in the crime of child pornography.
