| TROOP G NEWS RELEASE June 3, 2017 Impairment Suspected In Head-On Crash That Claimed the Life of a Minden Man Webster Parish – On June 3, 2017, at 4:40 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a two vehicle fatal crash on US Highway 80 just east of LA Highway 531 that claimed the life of a Minden Man. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2000 Ford Expedition operated by 33-year-old Andrea Aquino of Minden was traveling west on US 80, when for reasons still under investigation, she crossed the center line, and collided head on with an east bound 2004 Ford Mustang operated by 25-year-old Elias Andreden of Minden. Andreden sustained fatal injuries during the crash and were pronounced dead at the scene by the Webster Parish Coroner. Aquino sustained serious injuries from the crash and was transported to University Health Shreveport for treatment. Impairment is suspected to be a factor in this crash. Toxicology samples were obtained and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation. Each year, on Louisiana’s highways, numerous people are killed or seriously injured in automobile crashes that involve impaired drivers. In 2016, 52% of the fatal crashes in the Troop G area involved impaired drivers. Motorists are asked to designate a sober driver any time alcohol is consumed.
