TROOP G NEWS RELEASE April 9, 2017 Claiborne Parish Crash Claims the Life of an Unrestrained Homer Man Claiborne Parish- On Sunday, April 9, 2017, at 12:40 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to one vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 3062 just east of Louisiana Highway 2 that claimed the life of a Homer man. The preliminary investigation revealed a 2001 Pontiac Grand-am operated by 24-year-old Deuntrez Javonte Adams of Homer was traveling west on LA 3062 when for reasons still under investigation, he crossed the center line, exited the left side of the roadway, and struck an residence. Adams was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and sustained fatal injuries. Adams was pronounced dead at the scene by the Claiborne Parish Coroner. Louisiana law requires motor vehicle occupants to be properly restrained in every seating position, day and night. Wearing a seatbelt significantly reduces the likelihood of being seriously injured or killed as the result of a crash and is the single most effective thing motorists can do to protect themselves.
