TROOP G NEWS RELEASE March 21, 2017 Bienville Parish Fatal Crash Claims the Life of a Dubberly Man Bienville Parish- On Tuesday, March 21, 2017, shortly after 4:30 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to one vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 516 just west of Louisiana Highway 792 that claimed the life of a Dubberly man. The preliminary investigation revealed a 1997 Buick Lesabre operated by 41-year-old L.T. Mitchell Jr. of Dubberly was traveling east on LA 516 when for reasons still under investigation, he crossed the center line, exited the left side of the roadway, and struck a small group of trees. Mitchell was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and sustained fatal injuries. Mitchell was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bienville Parish Coroner. Louisiana law requires motor vehicle occupants to be properly restrained in every seating position, day and night. Wearing a seatbelt significantly reduces the likelihood of being seriously injured or killed as the result of a crash and is the single most effective thing motorists can do to protect themselves.
