TROOP G NEWS RELEASE March 7, 2017 Sudden Impact Mock Crash to Be Held at Haynesville High Football Stadium Multiple first responder agencies and Haynesville High School students will participate in a mock fatal crash to demonstrate the dangers of impaired driving and lack of seatbelt usage to the students. On Friday, March 10, 2017, at 9:00 a.m., at the Haynesville High School Football Stadium (Located in the 2400 Block of Stadium Drive, Haynesville, LA 71038), multiple agencies will work with students to demonstrate the possible fatal consequences of impaired driving and the dangers of not using seat belts. Students involved will act out a fatal crash scene scenario in front of their peers, allowing the students to see first-hand how drinking and driving affects everyone involved. Students from four other Claiborne Parish schools will also be attending this event. Numerous state and local agencies including Louisiana State Police Troop G, Pafford EMS, Claiborne Parish Sheriff’s Office, Haynesville Fire Department, University Health Shreveport, Haynesville Police Department, Thinkfirst of Louisiana, and Mckenzie Brothers Wrecker Service will participate in the scenario. This is an effort by participating agencies to reduce the number of underage DWI's as well as serious injury and fatal crashes, particularly during Prom season. Programs such as mock crashes teach youth the importance of making sound decisions throughout the course of their lives. ** All media outlets are invited to attend this event. ** Contact Information: | |||
