TROOP G NEWS RELEASE June 16, 2017 Rollover Crash Claims the Life of a Downsville Man Bienville Parish- On Friday, June 16, 2017, shortly before 8:00 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to one vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 147 just north of Louisiana Highway 507 that claimed the life of a Downsville man. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2016 Kenworth Tanker Truck operated by 24-year-old Joshua Brown of Downsville was traveling south on LA 147, when for reasons still under investigation, Brown lost control of the truck, exited the right side of the roadway, and overturned. Brown was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the truck. Brown sustained fatal injuries during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bienville Parish Coroner. Louisiana law requires motor vehicle occupants to be properly restrained in every seating position, day and night. Wearing a seatbelt significantly reduces the likelihood of being seriously injured or killed as the result of a crash and is the single most effective thing motorists can do to protect themselves.
