TROOP G NEWS RELEASE July 7, 2017 Troopers and US Marshall’s Task Force Apprehend DeSoto Parish Fugitive Shreveport-On Friday, July 7, 2017, Troop G Troopers, LSP Region 3 Bureau of Investigations, and members of the US Marshall’s Task Force apprehended a fugitive from DeSoto Parish that led Trooper Garrett Monroe on a high speed chase earlier this week. On July 5th, 2017, Troopers identified 22-year-old Delano D. Owens of Logansport as the suspect that was operating the vehicle that Trooper Monroe was pursuing on Tuesday when he had a crash that left him seriously injured. For the next several days, Troopers followed leads in an attempt to locate Owens. On July 7th, 2017, Troopers were able to identify a residence in Shreveport where Owens was possibly hiding. Troopers and US Marshall’s Task Force members then went to the residence where they located Owens inside with 20-year-old Alexus McCullough of Shreveport. Both Owens and McCullough were immediately taken into custody and transported to the Caddo Correctional Center and booked on the following charges: Delano D. Owens- Aggravated Flight From an Officer, Resisting Arrest, and a Warrant from the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office. Owens is also on Probation from a previous crime.
