TROOP G NEWS RELEASE October 16, 2017 Bossier Parish Crash Claims the Life of a Plain Dealing Woman Bossier Parish- On Monday, October 16, 2017, at 7:38 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a 2-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 157 just south of Louisiana Highway 2 that claimed the life of a Plain Dealing woman. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2015 Peterbuilt pulling an empty log trailer operated by 61-year-old Glenn Herrin of Plain Dealing was traveling south on LA 157, when for reasons still under investigation, he stopped and began to back into Grey Circle which was located on the east side of the roadway. As Herrin was backing into Grey Circle, his trailer was struck by a north bound 2004 Ford Taurus operated 33-year-old Brandy Brettillo of Plain Dealing. Herrin was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was not injured. Louisiana law requires motor vehicle occupants to be properly restrained in every seating position, day and night. Wearing a seatbelt significantly reduces the likelihood of being seriously injured or killed as the result of a crash and is the single most effective thing motorists can do to protect themselves.
