TROOP G NEWS RELEASE August 13, 2017 Impairment Suspected in a Crash That Claimed the Life of a Shongaloo Man Webster Parish- On Sunday, August 13, 2017, at 7:22 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a motorcycle crash on Elmer Moore Road just north of Louisiana Highway 160 that claimed the life of a Shongaloo man. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2017 XF-200 Sports Bike operated by 45-year-old Larry Dillion of Shongaloo was traveling north on Elmer Moore Road when for reasons still under investigation, he exited the right side of the roadway, and struck a wooden cross tie. Dillion was ejected from the sports bike during the crash and was not wearing a helmet. Dillion sustained fatal injuries during the crash and was pronounced deceased by the Webster Parish Coroner. Impairment is suspected to be a factor in this crash. Toxicology samples were obtained and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation. | |||
