| TROOP G NEWS RELEASE August 7, 2017 Rollover Crash Claims the Life of a Haynesville Man Webster Parish- On Monday, August 7, 2017, shortly after 10:00 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to one vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 159 just south of Louisiana Highway 2 that claimed the life of a Haynesville man. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2007 Mack Truck operated by 46-year-old Joe A. Ogden of Haynesville was traveling south on LA 159, when for reasons still under investigation, Ogden lost control of the truck, exited the right side of the roadway, and overturned. Ogden was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was partially ejected from the truck. Ogden sustained fatal injuries during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Webster Parish Coroner. Louisiana law requires motor vehicle occupants to be properly restrained in every seating position, day and night. Wearing a seatbelt significantly reduces the likelihood of being seriously injured or killed as the result of a crash and is the single most effective thing motorists can do to protect themselves.
