TROOP G NEWS RELEASE August 18, 2016 Webster Parish Fatal Crash Webster Parish-On August 18, 2016, at 12:19 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Interstate 20 around mile post 52 just east of Minden that claimed one life. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2012 International Tractor Trailer driven by an unidentified male was traveling west on Interstate 20 when, for reasons still under investigation, he lost control of his vehicle, exited the roadway, and crashed into a group of trees. Upon impact, the tractor burst into flames, and the driver as unable to escape. The driver was later pronounced dead at the scene by the Webster Parish Coroner. The investigation into the identity of the driver is ongoing. Impairment is unknown at this time, but a toxicology sample was obtained, and will be submitted for analysis.
