TROOP G NEWS RELEASE June 30, 2016 Bossier City Man Killed in Crash Bossier Parish – Earlier today, a single vehicle crash killed a man from Bossier City, LA. He was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. Troopers responded to the crash around 11:00 a.m., which occurred on LA Hwy 3 north of I-220. The crash involved a 2004 Subaru Forester, driven by Richard A. Doane (W/M 59 yrs). The Subaru was northbound on LA Hwy 3 when Doane lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a park, unoccupied Volvo excavator which was located beyond the improved shoulder. Upon impact, the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames. Doane was pronounced dead. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. While not all crashes are survivable, seat belts can greatly decrease the occupant’s chance of death and will greatly reduce the extent of injury.
