Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: June 27, 2011 Richland Parish Fatal Crash Last night, a single vehicle crash killed a man from Mangham, LA. Troopers responded to the crash around 9:00 pm, which occurred on LA Hwy 561 south of LA Hwy 132. The crash involved a 1991 GMC pickup, driven by Timothy J. McBroom (W/M 47 yrs). The GMC was north bound on LA Hwy 561 when the GMC exited the left side of the roadway and collided with a tree. McBroom was not wearing his seatbelt and was pronounced dead. Richland Parish Coroner’s Office will conduct an investigation to determine the exact cause of death. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Properly wearing a seatbelt remains the single most effective thing that you can do to protect yourself during a crash. In 2011, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers have investigated twenty-two (22) fatal crashes resulting in twenty-seven (27) deaths.
