News Release January 26, 2011 Two Men Die in Ouachita Parish Crash
Two West Monroe men died in an early morning crash in Ouachita Parish.
Troop F Troopers responded to the crash this morning at about 3:10 am. The investigation revealed that a 1996 Chevrolet truck was traveling east on LA 34 when, for unknown reasons, the truck crossed the center line and struck a westbound 2000 Chrysler van head-on.
The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 42-year-old Emmitte Fleming from West Monroe, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ouachita Parish Coroner's Office.
The driver of the Chrysler, identified as 39-year-old Steven Green from West Monroe, was also pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner's office.
Both men were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash. Impairment is not suspected to be a factor, but routine toxicology tests are pending.
In 2011, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers have investigated two (2) fatal crashes resulting in three (3) deaths.
