News Release December 20, 2010 Unrestrained Driver Dies in Lincoln Parish Crash
A man has died after being ejected from his vehicle in a roll-over crash in Lincoln Parish.
Troop F Troopers responded to the crash this morning at about 9:50 am. The investigation revealed that a 1995 Jeep Wrangler was traveling east on Interstate 20 (milepost 76.4) when it ran off the north side of the road. The Jeep entered the median area and rolled over several times before coming to rest. The driver, and sole occupant, was ejected from the vehicle in the crash.
The driver, identified as Andrew Johnson (53 yoa from Haughton, LA) was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lincoln Parish Coroner's Office. Johnson was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
While impairment is not suspected to be a factor, routine toxicology tests are pending.
In 2010, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers have investigated forty-one (41) fatal crashes resulting in forty-four (44) deaths.
