News Release December 9, 2010 Monroe Man Dies After Driving into a Ditch
A Monroe man was found unresponsive behind the wheel of his truck after driving into a ditch.
Troop F Troopers responded to the crash today at about 3:50 pm. The investigation revealed that a 1992 GMC truck was traveling south on US Hwy 165 Business, near Richwood Rd #1, when the truck drifted off the right side of the road and came to rest in a ditch.
The driver of the GMC truck, identified as 53-year-old Rayfield Baker from Monroe, was transported to LSU-Conway where he was pronounced dead.
The damage to the truck was not consistent with what is normally seen in fatal crashes. The Ouachita Parish Coroner's Office will determine the exact cause of death.
The case remains under investigation at this time.
