News Release February 11, 2011 Troopers Investigate Serious Injury Crash in Ouachita Parish
Two West Monroe men have been seriously injured in a Ouachita Parish crash.
Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers responded to the crash at about 2:05 am this morning. The investigation revealed that a 1979 Cadillac Deville was traveling west on New Natchitoches St, about one mile west of Well Rd, when the car ran off the south side of the road. The Cadillac entered a field near a construction area and struck an unoccupied dump truck head-on. The Cadillac then rolled-over before coming to rest in the field.
The driver, identified as 30-year-old Earl Hargrove Jr. from West Monroe, was air-lifted to the LSU-Shreveport hospital with life-threatening injuries. Hargrove was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
An occupant in the car, identified as 30-year-old Jeffrey Moore from West Monroe, was transported to St Francis Hospital in serious condition. Moore was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Troopers believe that impairment is a factor in this crash and toxicology tests are pending.
