NEWS RELEASE- Troop F January 27, 2013 Unrestrained Driver Killed in Ouachita Parish On January 26, 2013, at 11:32 p.m., Troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop F responded to a single vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 15 south of Interstate 20. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 1996 GMC truck, driven by 50-year-old Stanley Kilcrease of Monroe, was traveling south on Louisiana Highway 15 when it ran off the right side of the road, slid sideways and struck a driveway. The GMC then rolled several times before coming to rest on the passenger side. Kilcrease was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the GMC. Kilcrease was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ouachita Parish Coroner’s Office. Alcohol use is unknown. A toxicology sample was obtained and will be submitted for analysis. The majority of fatal and serious injury crashes involve occupants who are not wearing seatbelts. State Law requires seatbelts to be used at every seating position in the vehicle. Troopers would like to remind motorists of the importance of being properly restrained at all times. Troop F has investigated 3 fatal crashes which have resulted in 3 deaths so far this year. .
