| TROOP A NEWS RELEASE June 10, 2018 Laplace Man Dies in Single Vehicle Crash in Livingston Parish Livingston Parish – At approximately 7:30 am on June 10, 2018, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a single vehicle crash on LA 441 north of LA 442 in Livingston Parish. The crash took the life of 23-year-old Delvin Moore of Laplace. The initial investigation by State Police revealed that the crash occurred as Moore was traveling northbound on LA 441 in a 1999 GMC Yukon. For reasons still under investigation, Moore’s vehicle crossed the center line and ran off the left side of the roadway. Moore overcorrected to the right and lost control of his vehicle. Moore’s vehicle began to overturn and came to rest on its roof. Moore was properly restrained and sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Livingston Parish Coroner’s Office. Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in this crash, but a toxicology sample will be taken from Moore for analysis. Louisiana State Troopers wish to remind motorists that while not all crashes are survivable, statistics show that the chances of surviving a crash rise significantly when properly restrained. Making good choices while in motor vehicles such as never driving while impaired, always ensuring every occupant is properly restrained, and avoiding all distractions can often mean the difference between life and death. | |||
