          New Commander Appointed to Troop F
Troop F Lieutenant Tommy Lewis has been promoted by Colonel Mike Edmonson to Captain and appointed to serve as the new Troop F Commander. The Troop F vacancy is due to the recent promotion of Troop F Commander, Captain Kevin Reeves to Region 2 Command Inspector in Patrol.

Captain Tommy Lewis lives in Ouachita Parish and has been with the Louisiana State Police for 23 years. Captain Lewis began his career in 1990 where he worked at Troop F in the patrol divisions as a road trooper. In 1996, he served as the Troop F Public Information Officer until he was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 1997 where he worked as a shift supervisor. In 2009, he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and served as the Troop F Executive Officer and later as a shift supervisor until his appointment as the new Troop F Commander.

Captain Lewis says that he has been blessed with the opportunity to serve as the new Troop F Commander. Captain Lewis stated “I’m proud to serve our citizens in this new capacity and honored with the opportunity to promote the missions of this agency and Colonel Edmonson. We will continue our positive relationships with other local, state and federal agencies in the area not only to reduce the number of serious injury and fatality crashes on the roadways, but also to increase the safety and security of our residents and those visiting northeast Louisiana.”

Troop F would like to congratulate Captain Lewis on his promotion and new appointment as Troop F Commander.
