TROOP F NEWS RELEASE June 30, 2013
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2001 Nissan Altima, driven by 46-year-old Pamela Temple of Farmerville, was traveling west on Helmer Road when it drove off the left side of the road as it entered a slight curve. The Nissan then traveled into a drainage ditch. The Nissan was found overturned and partially submerged in water. Troopers believe the crash happened at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Saturday June 29, 2013. Temple was pronounced dead on scene by the Union Parish Coroner’s office. Troopers were unable to determine if Temple was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. Alcohol use is not suspected. A toxicology sample was taken and submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation. Troop F has investigated 27 fatal crashes which have resulted in 29 deaths so far this year.
