Fatal crash in Union Parish

On July 18, 2012, shortly after 4 p.m., troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop F responded to a two vehicle crash on US Highway 167 approximately 1 mile north of Lillie, Louisiana that claimed the life of an Arkansas man.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2012 Ford 1-Ton driven by 27-year-old Shane Buras of Covington, Louisiana was traveling south on US Highway 167 in the left lane when it struck a 1995 Chevrolet Silverado in the rear that was traveling south on United States Highway 167 in the left lane driven by 54-year-old Lyndell Dismuke of Eldorado, Arkansas.

Dismuke suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead at a hospital. Buras was properly restrained and did not report any injuries.

A toxicology sample was obtained from the drivers and will be submitted for analysis. Buras was cited with careless operation. The crash remains under investigation.
