TROOP F - NEWS RELEASE August 04, 2012 Fatal crash in West Carroll Parish On August 3, 2012, shortly after 3:30 p.m., troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop F responded to a single vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 582 east of Louisiana Highway 17, which claimed the life of an Oak Grove man. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 1997 Isuzu Hombre, driven by 28-year-old Daniel D. Ainsworth of Oak Grove, Louisiana, was traveling west on Louisiana Highway 582 when it left the roadway, struck a culvert, and overturned. Ainsworth was unrestrained and ejected from the vehicle. Ainsworth was transported to a hospital in Jackson, Mississippi, where he died. The crash remains under investigation. While not all crashes are survivable, the proper wearing of a seat belt is the best way to reduce injuries and fatalities in car crashes.
