| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent News Release April 14, 2012 Unrestrained Rayville Man Killed in Morehouse Parish Crash Late last night, Louisiana State Police- Troop F Troopers investigated a two-vehicle crash in Morehouse Parish that left an unrestrained Rayville man dead. At approximately 11:37 pm on the evening of Friday, April 13, 2012, Louisiana State Police investigated a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of US Hwy 425 and LA Hwy 3051. The crash occurred when a 2011 Dodge (cab-over), traveling east on LA Hwy 3051, ran a stop sign and collided with a 2005 Ford Mustang that was traveling north on US Hwy 425. The driver of the Dodge, 27 year old Stanislav Karapetyan of Aurora, Colorado, was wearing a seat belt and incurred minor injuries. The driver of the Ford, 42 year old Rayville resident Timothy D. Dye, was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Morehouse Parish Coroner’s Office. While impairment is not suspected to be a factor in this crash, routine toxicology tests are pending. Mr. Karapetyan was cited for Failure to Yield at the Stop/Yield Sign. Troop F has investigated five fatal crashes which have resulted in five deaths so far this year. While not all crashes are survivable, chances of survival are increased and severity of injuries can be decreased by the proper usage of a seat belt or age/weight appropriate child restraint. It only takes a few seconds to buckle up. Contact Information: Lt.
