TROOP F - NEWS RELEASE

November 24, 2012
Serious Injury Crash in Caldwell Parish

On November 23, 2012, at 8:23 p.m., Troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop F responded to a single vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 846 south of Louisiana Highway 4 that seriously injured a man from Kelly, Louisiana.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2004 GMC Sierra driven by 20-year-old Michael B. Eady of Kelly was traveling north on Louisiana Highway 846 when he traveled off the east side of the road and his vehicle rolled over.

Eady was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. Eady suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to a hospital.

Alcohol use is unknown. A toxicology sample was obtained and will be submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.

While not all crashes are survivable, the proper wearing of a seat belt is the best way to reduce injuries and fatalities in car crashes.
