NEWS RELEASE- Troop F October 30, 2012 Rayville Man Seriously Injured in West Carroll Parish On October 30, 2012, at 10:20 a.m., Troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop F responded to a single vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 134 west of Louisiana Highway 577. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, driven by a 54-year-old Danny L. Whitstine of Rayville, was traveling east on Louisiana Highway 134 when Whitstine lost control of the vehicle in a slight curve. The motorcycle ran off the right side of the road and ejected the driver. Whitstine was wearing a helmet that has not been approved by the U.S. Department of Transportation. He was transported to the hospital in Delhi with serious injuries. Impairment is not suspected. A toxicology sample was obtained and will be submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation. While the exact cause of this crash has not yet been determined, inattentive and distracted driving continue to be leading causes of crashes in our state.
