A Texas man has died in a two-vehicle crash in Jackson Parish
Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers responded to the crash today at about 2:30 pm. The investigation revealed that a 2009 Chevrolet truck was traveling west on LA 146 (milepost 39.4) when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed the center-line into the opposing lane of traffic. The Chevrolet struck an eastbound 1999 Mack truck with trailer (18-wheeler) in a head-on manner.
The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 35-year-old Charles L. Warren from Midway, TX, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jackson Parish Coroner's Office.
The driver of the Mack, identified as 40-year-old Brian Maxwell, received minor injuries in the crash and was taken to Lincoln General Hospital for treatment.
Both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash. Impairment is not suspected to be a factor, but routine toxicology tests are pending.
In 2010, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers have investigated thirty-five (35) fatal crashes resulting in thirty-seven (37) deaths.
