**Update**Serious Injury Crash in Ouachita Parish

On October 30, 2008, LSU-Shreveport hospital officials notified Troop F that Lillian Green died at about 11:41 am from injuries she sustained in the crash.

In 2008, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers have investigated forty-two (42) fatal crashes resulting in forty-seven (47) deaths.



Original release:
On October 28, 2008 at about 9:28 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop F Troopers investigated a two vehicle crash which resulted in serious injury to one of the drivers. The crash occurred on US Hwy 165 at milepost 188.7 in northern Ouachita Parish. A 1997 Freightliner "18 wheeler" was traveling north on US 165 and was slowing to make a left turn when it was rear-ended by a 2007 Chevrolet Impala. The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 84 year old Lillian Green from Sterlington suffered critical injuries in the crash and was transported to St Francis (North) Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Freightliner, identified as 57 year old James Durr from Collins, MS, was not injured in the crash.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash and alcohol use is not suspected to be a factor. No citations have been issued at this time and the crash is still under investigation.
